Building Tomorrow's NIKWIALAY
A few years ago, the Sons and daughters of Nikwialay residing in the diaspora came together to establish this great organization with a singular purpose – to promote the general welfare of the people of Nikwialay and Nikwia’s citizens residing in the abroad. Nikwia Wodoe has two governing bodies: the Executive and the Board of Directors.
The organization has over 25 registered members and host of undecided members as well as affiliates. Nikwia Wodoe is registered inthe state of Pennsylvania with our headquarters in Philidephia.
OUR MISSIONS
The organization shall be a developmental, cultural, educational, humanitarian, and non-profit organization. The organization shall raise funds through solicitation from the public and through contributions from its members and well-wishers who subscribe to the aims and objectives of Nikwia Wodoe International.
OUR VISIONS
We envision a peaceful, strong Nikwialay with developed educational and cultural sectors. The vision of NWIO is to see strong developmental and cultural relationships between Nikwia members residing abroad and the people of Nikwialay, Nimba County, Liberia.
OUR GOALS
Our goal is to uphold the general principles enshrined in our native heritage, for our preservation and protection; and to affiliate and collaborate with organizations and individuals in Nikwialay for the promotion of development, quality education, health care, advancement of peace, and strong family values at home and abroad.
What We Do at Nikwia Wodoe
COVID-19 relief food distribution
Extending Love to our people
During the onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic(COVID-19), Nikwia Wodoe Int’l Org generated the Sum of $3,587.23. The said amount was used to purchase two hundred and seventy-one (271) bags of Rice and distributed amongst the 19 Nikwia’s Towns.
While that gesture brought a bit of relief for our people, there are yet greater challenges in the areas schools and clinics, roads, bridges, and lclean drinking waters.
Glarlay Junior High School
Donation
Nikwia Wodoe has made an initial donation of 100 bags of cement to the project.
First Phase
The first segment of the project is nearly complete.
Nikwia Wodoe General Hospital
Cost Estimate: $1.3 million
Project Location: Frolay town, Ninkwia clan, Buu-Yao district, Nimba county. Liberia West Africa.
Project Description: Hospital with 100 bedrooms and other facilities serving the people of the Nikwia chiefdom and neighboring regions including communities from the neighboring Ivory Coast.
Gbarlay Clinic Maternity Annex
Project Details
Nikwia Wodoe is dedicated to constructing a maternity center in Gblarlay, Nimba County, Liberia, aiming to enhance healthcare services for pregnant mothers. This initiative seeks to complement the existing main clinic by providing a safe and specialized facility for maternal care in the region. Once completed, the maternity center will play a crucial role in ensuring access to quality healthcare for expectant mothers, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
Nikwia Wodoe’s commitment to this project reflects a commendable effort to address healthcare disparities and promote maternal health in underserved areas.
The project is estimated at $15,000 United States Dollars.
